{Pretty in Pink} | Columbus Event Photographer

These last 8 months I've had the pleasure of photographing newborns, toddlers, children, families, weddings, engagements, professional headshots, high school seniors and intimate boudoir. Out of every category, I found a true passion in witnessing the love between a couple on their wedding day, capturing a brand new baby's innocence and seeing a woman's sexy, flirty and playful demenor when she is without a doubt, in love. What a blessing to be present for those moments and document them through my eyes!

I especially loved the feedback given to me after my very first Boudoir Marathon Event. The girls told me that they had such a fantastic experience and that I made them feel beautiful. Within minutes they warmed up to me and my camera and had a crazy-good time posing for what would be an amazing present for their partners. What they didn't expect was that huge boost of confidence they got AFTER the shoot and all the anticipation that arose from waiting to see their images! And then when I thought it couldn't get ANY better - I receive a text message from Miss H Christmas Morning "OMG HE LOVED HIS LITTLE BLACK BOOK". She even documented his face (the expressions were priceless) while opening his very special Christmas gift. It was in that moment that I decided what direction I wanted to take my photography in...making girls of ALL ages, feel absolutely beautiful, amazing and special. Heck, who wouldn't want to feel that way?! And that is my mission for 2010. I'm going to be accepting only a few family sessions this year to really focus on these special photo shoots. The kind that make you all giddy inside! (Yes, I did just say giddy). LOL And of course Weddings. I have so much in store for my Brides and Grooms this year!

First up - the Pretty in Pink Party this past Sunday. What a way to kick off the brand new year!!! My goal for this event was to give my clients a professional make-over by having Melissa (a fabulous make-up artist) come over and do their make-up, as well as give them a fabulous background to relax, kick off their shoes and have fun in front of my camera. This day was all about being a girly girl! I had 11 girly girls in front of my camera at the event and I must say, they were all so beautiful. I hope by spoiling them with champagne, sparkling grape juice, candy, bubble gum and delicious desserts from Mozart's Bakery, they had an amazing time and felt "beautiful" in the time they spent with me. And I hope that feeling continued long after they left my home studio...

Miss Katie was my first client of the day and also my youngest! She is 4 years old and has such a fun, playful personality. She is a cheerleader and absolutely loves it! She told me she is into zebra stripes and that her favorite color is pink (I know - too cute, right?). She was so sweet and I absolutely loved being in her presence. She seemed a little hesitant with me at first, like "Who is this girl and why does she have a camera?!" kinda way so I asked her if I could take her picture. She agreed and from that point on, seemed to have a really fun time! She is so precious...don't you just get lost in those big beautiful eyes of hers?

It just so happens that Katie has a big sister, Leanne! They truly love each other and I loved interacting with them.

{Smash Cake 1st Birthday} | Columbus Baby Photographer

I was so excited when Sandra booked Claire's photo shoot weeks ago. I jump at the chance to photograph babies as they are so precious! And this wasn't just any photo shoot, it was a very special smash-cake birthday session! Baby Claire came to my studio in her holiday PJ's which matched my decor perfectly! Even though she was a tad bit shy at first, she got used to my camera and me talking to her about everything you would talk to an 11 month old about, haha, and started having fun. After the pj's she changed into a few more outfits and ended in a pink tutu! She wasn't too fond of the cake and made some priceless expressions. She's just too cute for words, let me tell you. (I'll be adding some special smash cake images to this blog entry soon)

To the P Family - It was such a pleasure meeting you and spending time with your beautiful Claire. I can't wait to hear how she reacts to her cake at her first birthday party! Thank you for choosing me to photograph such a special event and memory in your lives.

Now onto the teaser!

{2009 Holiday Special} / Columbus Family Photographer

I was so excited to meet Stephanie, her husband and three children today. They came to my studio to snap some holiday photos of the kids and boy did I have my work cut out for me with little man! Kyle is 2 years old and full of energy! I didn't think I'd get any good shots of him in because he was constantly on the go, but sure enough I got him good ;). Kayla is 6 and very quiet...at first. I tried talking to her about anything and everything but after about 15 minutes she warmed right up and took some beautiful photos. And finally baby Kaitlyn. She is only 3 weeks younger than my baby girl and she is just as precious as can be. Big, bright beautiful eyes. Just wait until you see my FAVE photo of her....she's gorgeous.

{2009 Holiday Special} / Columbus Family Photography

You may remember these cuties from their Family Session back in October. I'm so glad to have gotten to see them again so soon, just in time for the holiday season! They came to my studio to snap a few photos in front of the Christmas Tree and fireplace. Then we went back into the prop room to have some fun. Here are just a couple of my faves from their session.

{Baby Tori} / Holiday Special

I first met Tori when she was only 9 months old. You may remember her session at Homestead Park back in September. I had the pleasure of snapping her holiday photos, and some other fun ones as well, in my home studio.

Tori is almost 12 months old and is as cute as a button! She is saying "Momma" "Dadda" "Hello" and was so patient during her photo shoot. She had a lot of fun and her mommy and daddy were even on board for Tori to be my model for a very special photo shoot that I'll be offering come the first of the year. So yes, you will see more of Tori soon enough!

Let's get to her teaser! It was so difficult to choose, but I somehow managed to come up with 8 of my faves.

{Brothers} / Columbus Family Photographer

Last night I met up with my good friend Jenny and her beautiful boys! Martin is 5 and Mitch is 3. I had such a blast hanging out with them. They are both full of personality and energy! We went to Creekside in Gahanna, which is a beautiful place to have pictures taken, to play in the woods and to splash in the water. Although it was chilly out, the lighting was perfect and I was able to get several shots of the boys doing their thing. I can tell they love each other in the midst of all that brotherly rivalry.

Jenny, thank you for giving me this opportunity. I absolutely loved taking photos for you! Martin and Mitch are as handsome as can be and have such awesome personalities. :) And before I forget, tell Chad I'm going to have to charge him $1oo for splashing me with water! haha! And to Martin and Mitch...you are going to be such heart-breakers when you get older!

I only had time to edit just a few of many, so enjoy this teaser from their session!
