My husband is my backbone. My rock. My heart. My BEST friend. And he is always there no matter what, cheering me on. He is my biggest fan! Most recently he has been grabbing me a coffee, a snack, rubbing my back without me even asking. All because he knows that I have a deadline to meet or that I'm working on a special project that has me up at 3a. He knows me so well and knows that I'm IN-LOVE with photography. Everything about it. I'm in-love. Wow. How many people can honestly say they are in-love with their spouse, in-love with their children and life, and in-love with their career?! For that I am truly thankful. My husband feels all those same ways, except the career part. Sure he likes the financial world, just as I did so many years ago when I was into Mortgages. But he sure isn't passionate about it. Which led to a very serious conversation a couple of months ago.
I asked my husband if he liked being behind my camera. He was intrigued by my question and asked, "Why?" I mentioned how awesome he was the very first time he used my camera (Check out his pictures of me and our kids here). Reading back on that post I actually brought up him being my "assistant" in the future and at that point he just nervously laughed. But the truth be told, I was super impressed by him. Sure I did the editing, but he took fabulous out of camera shots. Yes, the wheels started turning!
And then came the day that I wanted a black and white photo of me holding our daughter. We tried the tripod and the light settings just weren't right. So I had him take the photos. He once again, did an amazing job.
I reminded him of my thoughts and asked him if he wanted to pursue photography with me. And he said.....YES! Like in an excited, guys don't usually respond that way, kinda way! Ahhhh! I instantly got butterflies. We had been searching for years, for something we could pursue together and I'm extremely confident that this is it!
So world...I'm introducing my amazing husband, Freddie Allison, as my 2nd Wedding Photographer! I'm getting butterflies just thinking about how amazing it is going to be to work alongside my husband and for him to feel what I feel every time I pick up my camera. Not only will he get those shots Brides and Grooms don't always get (especially the getting-ready-candids) but now our Brides and Grooms will have 2 people, who are so in love with eachother, caputuring their love through 2 different perspectives. Oh the butterflies!
And of course I have to end with a sneak peak of tomorrow's entry. Have an amazing Monday everyone!
